Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Resident
  • Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves
  • Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
  • Take instruction and tasks from the Registered Nurse
  • Ensure resident’s needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner

We are looking for people interested in a range of shifts from Perm Part Time to Casual so come and talk to us about what might suit you. We work with a fixed roster so you can plan ahead but the ability to offer some flexibility to pick up additional shifts, to provide cover in the Home is always welcomed.

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of our Elders, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. In addition, you will have:

  • Ability to be an active member of a team environment
  • Clear and confident communication skills - both verbal and in writing
  • Basic computer skills as we work with electronic record keeping
  • Careerforce Level 2 or above Health and Wellbeing Certificate (preferable)
  • Previous experience in aged care or other healthcare assistant or support worker role is ideal
