Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s largest specialist coal mine company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 550 people. The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Mine Planner, you will be a new graduate or early in career geologist looking to start their career in Mining. You’ll work with a small technical services team to develop solutions and assist with Mine planning and resource development. Some of the key result areas of the position include:

• Health and Safety
• General Geological services
• Data Collation, Validation, and interpretation
• Communication and reporting

What you will bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or comparative relevant qualification
• An interest in field mapping, geological, structural and rock mass interpretation, and core logging experience.
• A keenness to learn geological modelling software and geological databases
• A keenness to work with drill rig operations and sampling
• A good level of understanding of sedimentary and structural geology
• Full and current NZ driver license
