Bolton Hotel is Wellington's finest independent, NZ family owned and operated five star hotel, with an excellent central location for work or leisure in the capital. We are looking for a passionate Duty Manager to join our fabulous Front Office Team!

This is a full time position (guarantee of 30 hours per week) which will require the flexibility to be able to work mornings/afternoons/evenings (not overnight)/weekends/public holidays as required. We operate a 7-day rotating roster.

The Role, Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Managing and facilitating guest and team communications throughout the hotel
  • Assist with reservations, particularly afterhours
  • Accurate shift reporting and invoicing
  • Effective management of reception shift operations, such as: guest arrival, departure, invoicing, payment processing, audit and food and beverage service.
  • Ensure we are adhering to our host responsibility policy, on-licence and the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
  • Lead emergency procedures as required
  • Training new team members as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience in a similar role and establishment
  • Must hold valid Liquor Controller Qualification and Manager's Certificate
  • Strong and confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members in a positive way
  • Excellent communication skills, through both written and verbal channels
  • Must be guest focused with strong understanding of hotel five-star service standards
  • Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to adapt and problem solve
  • High standards of personal presentation
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Full Clean NZ Drivers Licence is preferred and highly valued
