A Japanese manufacturer is currently recruiting a Senior Java Developer (Assistant Manager level) to join their Hoofddorp office in the Netherlands.
In this role, you will be responsible for high-level analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving, assessing product suitability, and defining customer support requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring internal and external compliance (including J-SOX and licensing).
The ideal candidate should have experience in project management and progress monitoring, a hands-on mentality, and at least 6 years of experience in IT.
This position is expected to be a future IT Manager.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Start: ASAP
Location: Hoofddorp, Netherlands (Office-based, Working from home is possible as long as this has been discussed with the section manager)

Senior Java Developer Main Responsibilities:

1. Assure uninterrupted ICT services EU wide
2. Manage projects and monitor progress
3. Prepare and/or attend project meetings
4. Analyse user requirements
5. Develop new system designs and test plans
6. Secure knowledge transfer
7. Liaise/consult with users and provide technical consultancy
8. Discuss priorities with (delegated) system owners and manager
9. Check if solutions meet the user requirements and developed programs meet the company objectives
10. Register all user requirements

Senior Java Developer Ideal Candidate:

1. At least 6 years of experience in IT and a hands-on mentality
2. Experience in managing projects and monitoring their progress
3. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
4. Strong leadership and management skills
5. Analytical mind and negotiation skills
6. Good communication skills
7. Good verbal and written English (Dutch language is advantageous)
8. Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments on AWS and Java and Oracle, VM-ware, Windows, networking (hard- and software), MS365, firewalls, mobile communication
9. Knowledge of IBM iSeries environment, DB2/400 database is an advantage
