Head of Project Services – Capital Expansion Project

Duration: 12 month contract

We’re seeking a seasoned Head of Project Services to lead a high-performing team in the delivery of a major capital expansion initiative within a growing, innovative life sciences manufacturing environment that we are partnered with!

About the Role:

You will oversee a dedicated team of 25 project controls professionals, primarily composed of contractors, and report directly to the Project Executive. This is a unique opportunity to shape and drive the project services function on a critical, high-profile program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead implementation of cost and schedule management systems. Support infrastructure planning, cost estimation, and the establishment of realistic baselines.
• Apply robust change management practices and maintain clear tracking of cost and schedule impacts.
• Develop standardized dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into project performance, enabling data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee tender development and award processes for external services and equipment providers, including managing relationships tied to the primary EPC contract.
• Monitor project metrics to spot trends, anticipate risks, and provide early alerts to stakeholders.
• Coordinate input from the Project Services team for comprehensive project funding proposals.
• Ensure consistent project governance structures and alignment with all parties—contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Represent Project Services in strategic discussions, contributing to broader organizational initiatives.
• Continuously refine and enhance project systems and procedures for greater efficiency and clarity.
• Provide agile, ad hoc support to the senior leadership team responsible for the expansion.

What they are looking for:

• 10+ years of experience in cost control, finance, contract management, and risk management
• 5+ years of proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams
• Strong background in CAPEX project execution
• Experience with large-scale projects in the life sciences sector is a significant advantage
• A collaborative, forward-thinking leader with a strong grasp of project governance, reporting, and EPC contracting
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to senior stakeholders
