Chiesi is seeking a Head of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join the Benelux affiliate. This role offers a great opportunity for a medical professional who is ready for the next step as a manager in the pharmaceutical industry. What will you do?

For our Medical Affairs department, we are looking for a Head of MSL who will lead the team of Medical Science Liaisons for the AIR division in the Netherlands. You are responsible for the representation of the organization in relation to customers, as the manager of the medical customer-facing employees. You arrange with your team for optimal customer satisfaction by executing customer-oriented medical activities.

You take care of a proper transfer of Chiesi’s medical-scientific message to the customers and for the effective transfer of insights from the field to important bodies and persons within Chiesi. Internally, you are the person who is responsible for executing the medical customer-oriented strategies and also contribute to their development. Finally, you make sure the customer perspective will be brought into the organization.

Furthermore, you will:

  1. Set and prepare the strategic targets for the team and make sure that the clear and concrete targets will be realized;
  2. Build and maintain relationships with customers;
  3. Initiate high-quality projects;
  4. Recognize and act on project opportunities;
  5. Transfer and maintain medical knowledge to the team;
  6. Maintain an overview of the medical activities and projects running in the different regions and manage the team on that basis;
  7. Ensure that the timelines imposed in the activity and project plans are realized and assure the quality of the execution by the team;
  8. Develop, coach, challenge, and assess the performance of the team members.

Who are we looking for?

Someone with experience in the pharmaceutical industry who is ready for the next step. You have experience in a customer-facing role with a strategic mindset. You are ready to further develop your leadership skills and you are a strong team player. Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch are key for this role.

Furthermore, you have:

  1. Master's degree in medical-scientific program or equivalent by experience;
  2. Experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 3 years of working experience in a medical and a customer-facing role;
  3. Knowledge of clinical developments and pharmaceutical advertising legislation (‘CGR’);
  4. Experience with project management;
  5. Experience with the successful set-up, maintenance, and deployment of a network;
  6. Experience with project-based working and independent project management and coordination;
  7. Experience with managing highly educated professionals is a plus;
  8. A network among lung specialists would be preferred.
