Process & Proposal Engineer (Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated PROCESS AND PROPOSAL ENGINEER to join our team specializing in heat recovery systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and developing proposals for our products as well as providing technical support to clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure proposed designs meet client requirements and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and provide presentations to customers on our company’s products and services.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote products and services.
- Travel to client offices to conduct presentations and attend meetings (Technical/Commercial Discussion, Negotiations, Bid Clarifications, etc).
- Provide technical expertise and support during the project lifecycle, from concept to execution.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for client enquiries, project biddings, and tenders. Produce other necessary documentation required for proposals.
- Work with clients and engineers to ensure the equipment meets project requirements.
- Ensure proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with international standards and codes.
- Establish customer rapport and acceptance.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including management, engineers, technical & non-technical executives, consultants, and suppliers.
- Conduct process and heat transfer design of Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU), Once Through Steam Generators (OTSG), Heat Exchangers, and Pressure Vessels.
- Produce heat transfer calculations, P&ID, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct market research to explore potential new target markets, observe current market trends, and future directions of the market.
- Involved in grant-related matters (Research & Development, Government, SME Financing).
- Involved in application and maintenance of the company’s Patent.
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferably one (1) to two (2) years of experience in related industries. Fresh graduates are also acceptable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outspoken personality.
- Self-motivated.
- Able to work as a team member.
- Able to travel.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer principles, and fluid dynamics.
- Knowledge and experience with steam generators, boilers, pressure vessels, or hot oil systems is an added advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Capable use of process simulation software (e.g., FORTRAN, HTRI, PPSD, HYSYS, Aspen, ANSYS, or FINGLOW) will be an added advantage.
- Project management experience will be an added advantage.
