X-ray / AOI Senior Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement, and risk management, as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be required to identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process-related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC methodology. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at the process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications, and managing, auditing, and liaising with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk management objectives.

Responsibilities

New Product Introduction

• Enable new process/material/equipment capabilities.
• Evaluate new risks identified with the new product/process.
• Provide engineering solutions and train the workforce if necessary.
• Monitor new product quality metrics and bring it to maturity and sustain level.
• Feedback to NPI or design group on problems, potential problems/opportunities, and DFM guidelines.
• Maintain in-depth end-to-end process knowledge for HVM or sustaining product and process.
• Lead on process characterization and product/process recipe optimization and management.
• Develop, introduce, implement, and ensure effective process control along FMEA and QCP for end-to-end process control.
• Maintain good documentation of process specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Provide throughput on EPT (Effective Processing Time) by improving capacity and maximizing product output.

Improve Assigned Process/Product Yield/Quality

• Improve and review process control with new risk or risk assessments identified.
• Perform detailed electrical/physical failure analysis, perform process mapping, and work with other departments to resolve Module/SSD-related issues.
• Implement changes due to customer requirements, sites horizontal deployment or proliferation, process improvement, and train workforce when necessary, along the company change control system.
• Problem-solving of process issues which includes finding root causes, containment of materials, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Shift left mindset to improve severity, occurrence, and detection along foolproof or poka-yoke system or process control in place.
• Able to provide system solutions for any process or product issues.

Process/Material Development

• Perform research and market surveys on new processes, equipment, machines, tools, or materials.
• Conduct evaluation or experiment (DOE) on new processes or materials and benchmarking on new equipment.
• Apply decision-making methodologies for the selection of new processes/equipment/materials.
• Manage change of implementation of new process/equipment/material which includes process specification, training material, and SOP.
• Test out new solutions with extensive data collection and analytics.
• Set up systems for data extraction, traceability, and data analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical/Material/Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in Module/SSD manufacturing or PCBA-related.
• Strong technical know-how with proven problem-solving skills (7QC tools) and technical documentation.
• Able to use Excel/JMP for data analysis will be an advantage.
• Able to work independently and with less job supervision.
• Highly motivated and driven to achieve targets in a tight schedule with limited resources.
• Strong communication skills and coordinating abilities to work across various functional teams.
• Good and positive interpersonal skills and a growth mindset.
• Knowledge of DFX/DFM/DFA is advantageous.
• Knowledge of FMEA, QCP, SPC, and DOE is advantageous.
