Welding QA Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Production Manager, this full-time Welding QA Engineer position at MTD Industries Sdn Bhd in Taman Desa Cemerlang, Johor is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in the company's welding processes. As a key member of the quality assurance team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and safety of MTD Industries' manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

1. Developing, implementing and monitoring quality control systems and procedures for welding processes
2. Performing inspections and testing of welded components to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications
3. Analysing and interpreting data to identify areas for process improvement
4. Providing technical guidance and training to production staff on welding best practices
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues
6. Maintaining detailed records and documentation of quality control activities
7. Staying up-to-date with the latest welding quality assurance regulations and industry standards

What we're looking for

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline
2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Welding QA Engineer or in a similar quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment
3. In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and quality control procedures
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality issues
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
6. Proficiency in using quality management software and data analysis tools
7. Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 9001, AWS, ASME)
