Job description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations. These operations include shipping, inventory, and delivery. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency and ensure a safe environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the various DC teams in a transparent and open communication environment while creating a culture of service, safety, and continuous improvement.
  2. Manage DC operations, warehouse, customer service, and relationships through providing regular feedback and periodic operational reviews with customers (internal/external) to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction via agreed KPIs. Take initiatives to effectively meet or exceed company requirements & customer expectations.
  3. Conduct feasibility & analytical study on existing and new business. Implement best practices to achieve the best customer experience (internal/external).
  4. Accountable to DC budgeting and expenditure, as well as monthly operating targets. Track quality, cost, and efficiencies. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity. Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
  5. Periodic and regular reviews on planning, performance, and expectation with senior leadership team and operation managers. Providing feedback on operational status and budget figures. Close collaboration and alignment with Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Management teams to ensure the order delivery and process meet customer's requirement and expectation within cost, speed, and reliability.
  6. Collaborate with logistics partners to ensure timely and efficient pickup of orders for delivery. Develop relationships with key logistic providers, negotiate rates and required contracts as needed, and help develop and track service metrics with all carriers and outsourced partners.
  7. Implement and maintain best practices for inventory management systems and processes. Track and manage stock movements and inventory levels to optimize space utilization and minimize carrying costs. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliation to ensure and maintain inventory accuracy.
  8. Direct and oversee all inbound, outbound, and storage activities. Develop, document, implement, effectively practice, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and safe DC/warehouse operations.
  9. Ensure DC operations are in compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as in-line with top management's direction. Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among the DC teams.
  10. Provide direction and guidance to subordinates in establishing daily routine job function and reporting methods for respective job function. Leads with strategic supervision and coaching which contributes to the development of managers, executives, supervisors, and other team members.
  11. Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and forklift operators. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
  12. To perform other relevant duties as assigned by Management.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Track and manage inventory.
  • Inspect warehouse and keep the warehouse clean and safe.
  • Manage warehouse staff.
  • Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Business Administration/Engineering/Material Science or equivalent.
  • At least 12 years in leadership positions leading teams (8 years for Senior Managers), in medium/high volume FMCG distribution/warehouse & logistics/supply chain/manufacturing environment, in medium to large scale local or international companies.
  • Strong management & leadership qualities with high level of integrity.
  • Good business instinct.
  • Able to influence and manage expectations at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and distribution KPIs.
  • Accountable to results.
  • Excellent data analytical capability and good logical senses, with a strong passion for process and data mapping.
  • Excellent organizational skills, possess in-depth knowledge of warehouse, logistics, supply chain & inventory systems/processes.
  • Attention to detail and self-motivated.
  • A passionate leader as well as a team player who is willing to go the extra mile in order to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Experience in setting strategies, planning, and improving logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, capable to communicate effectively with all levels. Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin.
  • Proficient in Warehouse Management System (WMS), Excel, and BI tools. Basic knowledge of ERP.
  • Good in problem analysis, decision making, and coaching all levels of staff.
  • Must be able to develop good working relationships with all transporters/contractors.
  • Familiar with WMS & local distribution practices is important.
  • Proficient in MS Office - Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Must be willing to work in Kolombong, Kota Kinabalu.
