Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Portfolio Performance Analysis

  • Monitoring KPIs: Engage with portfolio companies and track the performance across financial and operational metrics, identify potential risks, compliance with financial covenants, and ensure alignment with growth and profitability goals.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse financial data, market trends, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement and value creation, including but not limited to contributing insights on portfolio performance risks during internal meetings and discussions.
  • Report Creation: Prepare regular reports (quarterly, semi-annually, annually) and dashboards to communicate the performance and status of portfolio companies to the senior management team or limited partners.

2. Strategic Support for Portfolio Companies

  • Identify Value Creation Opportunities: Work with portfolio companies to assess their needs and provide strategic recommendations for growth, such as market expansion, cost efficiency, or operational improvements.
  • Support Execution: Assist in executing value creation initiatives, including fundraising introduction, clients and vendors development, and administrative matters.
  • Initiative Management: Coordinate various value creation projects across portfolio companies.

3. Market & Industry Research

  • Industry Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends, emerging opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities to help portfolio companies stay competitive and capitalize on market trends.

4. Financial & Investment Analysis

  • Investment Support: Support the investment team in evaluating potential investment opportunities, analysis, research and financial analysis where relevant.
  • Valuation Support: Support valuation exercises for potential or existing investments, considering both financial and non-financial factors.

5. Process Refinement

  • Improvement: Play a role in refining processes, tools, and methodologies for improved fund/portfolio management and monitoring.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Internal Communication: Collaborate with internal teams to provide insights and updates on portfolio company performance and value creation efforts.
  • External Relationships: Engage with external stakeholders (such as partners or industry players) to drive value creation initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in either (1) portfolio management or investment management for PE/VC fund, (2) corporate development or operation management for corporations or start-ups, or (3) investment banking
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and contribute to a positive and dynamic work environment
