As AMD continues its high growth trajectory, our world-class Talent Acquisition team is expanding to meet the increased demand. We are now looking for a University Recruiter (UR).

The Person:

A University Recruiter (UR) is responsible for identifying, attracting, and recruiting students and recent graduates for internships, co-ops, entry-level roles, and campus ambassador programs. They work closely with colleges and universities to promote their company as an employer of choice for emerging talent. Here’s a breakdown of key responsibilities for a University Recruiter:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campus Recruitment: Develop and execute strategies to identify and recruit top student talent by attending campus career fairs, networking events, and information sessions.
  • Building Talent Pipelines: Build relationships with university career services, faculty, and student organizations to create a pipeline of potential candidates.
  • Campus Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with key universities and academic departments to identify and engage with high-potential students.
  • Employer Branding: Promote the company’s brand on campuses through workshops, guest lectures, and networking events. Highlight company culture, values, and career opportunities.
  • Screening and Selection: Review resumes, conduct initial interviews, and assess candidates for internships and entry-level roles.
  • Interview Scheduling: Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, often aligning with the university academic calendar.
  • Offer Management: Communicate job offers to candidates and provide guidance on relocation, benefits, and onboarding for students who accept roles.
  • Career Fairs: Organize and attend career fairs, both in-person and virtual, to network with students and raise awareness of job opportunities.
  • Track Recruitment Metrics: Maintain records of recruitment activities and report on the success of recruitment campaigns, such as the number of candidates hired from different universities.
  • Candidate Feedback: Gather feedback from both candidates and hiring managers to continuously improve the recruitment process and student programs.
  • Smooth Transitions: Ensure that selected candidates experience a smooth onboarding process and help them transition from student to employee.
  • Maintain Candidate Relationships: Keep in touch with candidates who may be in the hiring pipeline but are not immediately placed in roles, building long-term relationships for future opportunities.

Experience and Skills:

  • Prior Experience in: Experience in engaging with students on college campuses, organizing recruitment events, or managing internship/co-op programs.
  • Internship/Graduate Program Management: Hands-on experience managing internship or rotational programs, including recruitment, candidate experience, and post-internship feedback.
  • General Recruitment Background: Experience in recruiting, even outside of university recruitment, is highly valuable—such as sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
  • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Knowledge of end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing candidates to onboarding.
  • Career Fair and Event Planning: Experience in organizing and managing events like career fairs, information sessions, or company presentations.
  • On-Campus Engagement: Direct involvement in planning or attending recruitment events at universities.
  • University Partnerships: Experience working with university career centers, academic departments, or student organizations to build recruitment pipelines.
  • Alumni or Student Group Relations: Experience in building relationships with alumni networks or student organizations to promote opportunities.
  • Time Management: Able to juggle multiple recruitment campaigns and campus events without missing deadlines.
  • Creativity: Coming up with innovative ways to engage students and promote the company on campuses, through both in-person and digital means.
