Underwriter - Actuarials degree - Life & Medical

Job Responsibilities:

1. Underwrite life and medical insurance products by assessing the risks according to company guidelines and regulations.
2. Ensure issuance of new applications and renewal materials are within standard turnaround time.
3. Collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements and needs of the clients are met to develop new business and retain existing clients.
4. Conduct analysis on risk to ensure profitable portfolio.
5. Product development by furnishing product features, pricing, policy wording, standard operating procedure and product materials.
6. Review existing products for new development and enhancements to stay competitive in the market.
7. Ensure continuous compliance of regulations and procedures at all time.
8. Initiate improvement to operational and process flow efficiency.
9. Work on action plans to achieve company target.
10. Ensure timely report submission to management.
11. Ensure underwriting documentations are filed and records are accurate.
12. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities requested by the Management as and when required.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate, Professional Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Insurance or related fields.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ underwriting experience, with in-depth knowledge of life and/or medical insurance.
3. Customer oriented and self-motivated.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
5. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
