About the role
The Technology Community Engagement & Innovation Manager (Asia) is responsible for the creation, maintenance and operation of Technology based Innovation and community-based initiatives that promote Technology's EVP, enhance Productivity and Collaboration and advance innovation within the Technology space.
The Technology Community Engagement & Innovation Manager (Asia Pacific) will be reporting into the Head of Technology Business Operations Excellent (TBOX) in TS&O, Asia Pacific, this role has line management responsibility where required.
The Team
- The team is relatively new to SEEK and will have a community focus particularly in Kuala Lumpur where Technology personnel growth (and therefore community) is a key focus.
- The team currently comprises you, the manager, and a Coordinator/Lead, with both roles based around the same objectives and skill sets.
- You will be responsible for the other team member from a line management perspective and management of workload.
Key Responsibilities
- The Technology Community Engagement & Innovation Manager (APAC) is accountable for Community-specific experiences and engagement across the range of Technology departments with a drive to foster collaboration and innovation, including:
- Full time support and accountability (where applicable) for internal and external community building efforts, from Hackathon to Meetup Group support and talent acquisition as well as events to make our MEL and KL Hubs an attractive collab space for Technology to build communities.
- A dedicated focus on solving the common problems of creating, growing and sustaining internal and external community and on marketing the SEEK Technology EVP to external communities.
- Generate, manage and maintain a portfolio of Engagement and Innovation initiatives aligned to core Technology strategy outcomes of Simplified Operations and Empowered People along with Productivity-enhancing Processes & Tooling.
- Drive continuous improvement, surfacing information and metrics from initiatives that impact broader business considerations to enable informed decision making and governance input from key stakeholders including the ELT.
- Budget management of a dedicated community-based budget used for EVP and community support.
- Leadership and management responsibilities and line management. Being accountable for managing the individual performance and professional growth, personal development and/or leadership capabilities via coaching and mentoring. Growing team member functional capabilities either directly through line management & coaching efforts or indirectly through technical leaders.
The key objectives of the role are to:
- Promote Technology's EVP: Support internal initiatives for the wider Technology community to engage with, while promoting SEEK's Technology brand and EVP awareness externally with a primary focus in KL.
- Enhance Productivity & Collaboration: Improving the collaboration and sharing of knowledge and IP across Technology to further enhance productivity.
- Advance Innovation: Through clear messaging and promotion of ideas and tools available for use across the Technology landscape (e.g. AI tools).
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
This role requires good interpersonal and communication skills at its core. The ability to also self-manage, problem solve during stressful deadlines and effectively manage your time and priorities across multiple initiatives at once is paramount to success:
- Experience in Event management related to events the size of Hackathon or Hive week.
- Strong communication skills: Communicate to all levels of the business including the ELT.
- Strong presentation skills: Bring together core information and data into concise/clear presentations that speak to the relevant audience level and again need to go to any level of the business including the ELT.
- Be self-motivated to inspire, encourage and motivate others to participate in community-based initiatives/events.
- Facilitation skills for running working groups or committees, particularly around events.
- Direct line management experience of at least one person.
