Responsibilities:

• Monitor, implement and ensure compliance with the Plant Occupational Health & Safety Management System and its Legal Requirements.
• Implement and monitor the compliance with the Plant Security Management System.
• Monitor compliance with the ISPS (International Ship & Port Security) Management System.
• Implement and monitor the compliance with the ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System) for Health & Safety Section.
• Organise all Safety, Health & Environment (“SHEQ”) Training Programs and advise Jimah Power Plant staff and contractors.
• Assist in monitoring the SHEQ Section Budget and ensure cost expenses are within budget.
• Assist in monitoring the SHEQ performance review regularly and impose cost control measures to achieve company objectives.
• Ensure the company's business contingency action plan (“BCAP”) is well disseminated and understood by all employees for disaster preparedness.
• Adopt Risk Management methodology to assess and evaluate operational risks and formulate action plans to mitigate such risks.
• Ensure alignment between planned individual performance and overall business goals to deliver improved results and foster a high-performance culture.
• Ensure all purchases comply with procurement policies & procedures and within the defined limits of authority (“LOA”) manual.
• Maintain Station Certification in ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System) & ISPS (International Ship & Port Security System).
• Assist and coordinate external & internal audit activities smoothly and efficiently in accordance with corporate governance policy.
• Assist and coordinate with Finance Department regarding all insurance claims and related matters within the group insurance policy framework.
• Coordinate, implement and comply with Health, Safety & Environmental Legal Requirements.
• Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programs, and practices for safe and environmentally sound operations.
• Perform additional tasks relevant to accomplish the company's overall objectives as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a minimum Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or any Engineering degree from a recognized institution.

Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required:

• Authorized Entrant & Standby Person for Confined Space (“AESP”).

Optional Requirement or Added Advantage:

• Registered Safety and Health Officer (“SHO”) with DOSH Site Safety Supervisor.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 2 years working experience in Safety, Health, and Environment.

Skills and Behaviour Traits:

• Knowledgeable in Health & Safety Management System, ISPS Management System, and other Quality Management Systems.
• Hands-on analytical skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Coaching and managing Health & Safety matters.
• Knowledge of Coal Fired Power Plant Operations and Maintenance.
• Proficiency in statutory regulations and legislation requirements related to Coal Fired Power Plant operations.
