Technician II - Quality

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works with Production, Engineering and related department to solve quality issues in the AE process and customer side. Assists QA Engineer to coordinate quality improvement activities in AE for both manufacturing processes and product quality, ensuring process ability and product quality meet AE standards and customers’ requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist QA Engineer in handling quality issues in the AE process and customer side, implement containment actions, investigate root causes, follow up on corrective actions, and manage the Product Hold process.
2. Perform line process audits, product Out of Box Audits (OBA), and process compliance audits on a daily basis.
3. Conduct inspections on incoming materials, PCBA, modules, and Higher Level Assemblies against standard specifications and product/process documentation.
4. Report and follow up on any quality issues and non-compliance in daily operations.
5. Coordinate purge and verify RMA.
6. Update audit reports and findings in a timely manner.
7. Guide operators and inspectors on quality and workmanship standards.
8. Collect and analyze data, driving improvements with data.
9. Assist QA Engineer in First Article Inspection and compile results for customers as needed.
10. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
11. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to production processes, components, business, and technology.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
• Primarily works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High voltage and current conditions exist; appropriate precautions must be observed.
• Works under direct supervision and receives support from engineers to understand new tasks.
• Overtime may be necessary during times of increased demand.
• Work in day and night shifts as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good communication skills, able to coordinate with personnel from different departments to implement quality activities and solve quality issues.
• Proficient in English and Malay communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with IPC standards.
• Skills in electronic/mechanical product inspection.
• Basic knowledge of ISO standards such as 9001, 14001, 18001, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of ESD & Cleanroom practices.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• PC skills, able to create reports using MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
• Able to train and educate assemblers and inspectors.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment, especially with High Level Assembly or related inspection and quality.

EDUCATION:

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience.
