Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Component Failure Analysis Technician supports the Component Failure Analysis Engineering function by monitoring field quality data for accuracy and consistency, understanding historical failure modes, and identifying new field issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate with manager for CFA case analysis, responsible for testing such as visual inspection via 3D microscope, CT Image analysis, electronic parameter testing, test fixture development, chemical decapsulation, cross section, SEM/EDX, high temp./humidity reliability test etc.
  2. Responsible for chemical analysis, safety precautions, and fulfilling the local government control requirements for hazardous chemical control.
  3. Finalize the analysis result and prepare related report for further review.
  4. Maintain the good condition and operation for important equipment, provide operation training, work instruction, and PM planning to other factory parties, such as 3D microscope, SEM/EDX, IR microscope, cross section analysis, X-ray, etc.
  5. Communicate and work with other departments to understand the background information and conduct on-site visits for both internal and supplier processes to confirm the possible cause of failure.
  6. Guide related persons such as operators and inspectors on CFA standard understanding.
  7. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good communication skills, able to coordinate with persons from different departments to implement CFA activities and solve CFA issues.
  • English and Malay communication skills in verbal and written.
  • Able to support and work with manager for various CFA case analyses, experiments, data processing, and report preparation.
  • Good teamwork.
  • PC skills, able to publish reports with MS Office such as Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
  • Able to train and educate assemblers and inspectors.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • Able to handle the majority of CFA equipment independently, including 3D microscope, electronic testing, SEM/EDX, cross section, high temp./humidity chamber, etc.

EDUCATION:

  • Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience.
