Rail & Maritime Transport (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
- To assist the Senior Manager (Fleet) in providing technical advice and engineering management services to vessels.
- To undertake any other job related responsibilities that may be assigned by the Technical Manager/Senior Manager, Fleet.
- To be responsible for allocating work to his subordinate.
- To ensure complying with recommendations of machinery manufacturers so that off-hires and disruptions to operations due to breakdowns are minimized.
- To undertake one-off jobs such as assisting new buildings, handling major plant and equipment for vessels, conversion of existing vessels, etc. (Projects)
- To provide technical input on current vessels and also new vessels whenever necessary.
- To do vessels troubleshooting or leading the repair team in Labuan or Kemaman from time to time.
- To be responsible for scheduling dry docking, evaluating, supervising dry dock repairs and execution in timely manner and within budget.
- To do vessel inspections onboard at our vessel bases ie Labuan, Kemaman, Sarawak and advice improvements to Management.
- To be responsible and review existing preventive maintenance system and provide for professional updates and improvements.
- To continuously monitor the technical performance of the vessels assigned to them and advise the Master/Chief Engineer on appropriate actions to be taken when deviations from the norm occur (Management of Change).
- To be responsible for ensuring that the vessels assigned to them are operated in compliance with the rules and regulations of the various statutory, Classification Society and, other international and maritime governing bodies.
Requirements:
- Degree/Professional/Master or with more than 7 years of related working experience.
- Minimum 5 year of seagoing experiences.
- Minimum 2 years on shore-based ship management.
- Class 1, Chief Engineering 3000kW or more unlimited Trade (will be added advantages).
