Position Title: Technical Services Engineer (Avionics)
Reports To: Technical Services Manager
Role Purpose:
To prepare technical instructions, specifications, documents and reports in the power plant engineering field under ATA 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 31, 33, 34, 44, and 46 in order to facilitate the modification, repair or changes to the supporting technical documents of the respective aircraft or engine type assigned.
To provide resolutions to technical problems and issues affecting the serviceability and maintainability of the aircraft or engine type assigned.
Undertake studies and evaluations of service bulletins, products or processes to enhance the economic operation, maintainability and life of aircraft, engines or components.
Key Accountability:
Provide aircraft engineering development and service engineering support in the electrical and avionics field under applicable and relevant ATA chapters for Fireflys ATR & Boeing aircraft fleet.
Maintain design control for all design documents generated within the section and physically check all design documents released from the section within the last 24 hours conform to the airworthiness requirement.
Responsible for coordination of airworthiness requirement management, qualification and continued airworthiness.
Undertake studies and provide resolutions to technical problems and issues to improve ATR72/ B737 fleet technical dispatch reliability in regard to relevant ATA chapter for electrical & avionics.
To be involved in vendor outsourcing, tender exercise, preparation of project paper, tender checklist and contract management for maintenance services for electrical & avionics related.
Liaise and discuss with the production team and AMO part 145 team for technical support for electricals & avionics defect finding during the maintenance activities.
Liaise and discuss with the OEM team for technical support for electricals & avionics defect finding during the maintenance activities.
Liaise with aviation authorities for repair scheme and modification documents related to electrical & avionics for approval if required.
Evaluate service bulletins or other modification documents to improve electrical & avionics and related components and their operations and prepare the modification documents for submission for further approval.
Check and verify mods bulletin approved for incorporation and implementation on aircraft electrical & avionics related in accordance to approved company procedures.
Raise Engineering Technical Services Instruction (ETSI) to initiate fleet instruction arising from OEM source document, reliability section input or other related requirements.
Evaluate, issue ETSI and monitor the accomplishment of Airworthiness Directive, Modifications and OEM service bulletin.
Liaise and discuss technical matters with vendors, airlines, airworthiness authorities, overhaul agencies and other Firefly departments in regard to electrical & avionics-related work areas.
Qualifications & Working Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering in Aerospace, Electrical or related.
Personality Traits:
Excellent knowledge of aircraft operations and maintenance systems and procedures.
Good understanding of Part 145 and Part M subparts G requirements, experience with CAMO functions.
Ability to liaise with authorities for compliance documents consultation and approval.
Able to evaluate all manufacturers/ regulatory documents.
Knowledge of applicable regulation sets by CAAM, EASA, FAA and TC, and ICAO.
