Job description

Job Functions:

A Petroleum Oil Sales Representative/Manager is responsible for selling petroleum products, developing customer relationships, and managing sales operations within the oil & gas industry. The role typically involves:

  1. Identifying and acquiring new customers
  2. Managing and growing existing client accounts
  3. Negotiating contracts and pricing
  4. Monitoring market trends and competition
  5. Coordinating with logistics and supply chain teams for product delivery
  6. Ensuring compliance with industry regulations

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and target potential clients in the oil recycling and processing industry.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share goals.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close sales agreements.

2. Technical Consultation

  • Understand the technical requirements of clients and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Liaise with the engineering and R&D teams to ensure solutions meet customer specifications.
  • Provide after-sales technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to clients.

3. Market Research & Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify new market opportunities and provide insights to improve product offerings.
  • Participate in industry exhibitions, conferences, and networking events.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Regularly follow up with customers to assess satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients and the company.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and technical issues.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge in petroleum and oil types
  • Industry knowledge:
    • Understanding different petroleum products (crude oil, refined products, lubricants, gas, etc.).
    • Awareness of global oil pricing and influencing factors (OPEC, geopolitics, supply & demand).
    • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the oil & gas industry.
  • Communication skills – Ability to clearly explain product benefits to clients.
  • Negotiation skills – Capability to close profitable deals.
  • Relationship-building skills – Essential for long-term customer retention and trust.
  • Proficiency in using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools to manage client relationships.
  • Ability to leverage data analytics to evaluate sales performance.
