The CAD Drafter will form part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. You should stay up to date with new drafting software and advancements. Demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and have sound knowledge of the discipline they draft for.
Job Responsibilities:
The CAD Drafter guides the software in order to create accurate depictions of the products to be manufactured or the building to be constructed.
Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials.
Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used).
Create detailed technical drawings with Computer-aided Design (CAD) software.
Communicating with architects, suppliers, and engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
Ensuring final designs are compliant with regulations, client’s requirements and quality standards and budget.
Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
Ensuring that deadlines are met, and drawings are prepared efficiently.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in engineering or architecture.
Familiar with 3D modelling tools SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CADD and 3D modelling tools.
Minimum 5 years working experience as a Drafter or similar role.
Experience in furniture industry will be added advantage.
