Job description

Technical Consultant at Laboratory Workplace Automation

Digital Hub Kuala Lumpur attracts, inspires, and develops diverse talents who will elevate BASF’s digital journey.

As one of the world’s largest chemical companies, BASF is on a mission to create chemistry with a sustainable future. The Digital Hub Kuala Lumpur, alongside four other Digital Hubs across the globe, is part of the technology powerhouse driving our vision. Join our organization and make an impact in an inclusive and diverse work environment. We value individual differences and provide opportunities for you to contribute your unique perspective towards our collective goals.

In the "Laboratory Workplace Automation" product team, as part of the "Digital Laboratory" product family, we continuously optimize digital solutions in the laboratory environment. We enable automated collection of laboratory data and seamless data flows, which are an important basis for subsequent data integration and analysis.

As a Technical Consultant, you will support the operation and expansion of highly efficient laboratory data systems with a focus on chromatography (e.g. Chromeleon, Openlab) and titration (e.g. Tiamo, LabX) in collaboration with external and internal teams.

In this role, you will support and advise our partners on complex IT application issues as well as on the digitization and automation of laboratory processes.

Responsibilities and Key Outcomes

You will ensure the safe, trouble-free operation of the solutions for which you are jointly responsible. The planning and setup of new systems will be just as much a part of your tasks as the operational support and migration of existing systems. You will be familiar with BASF's cyber security and data protection guidelines and ensure compliance with them. As part of a specialized internal team, you will manage external suppliers and have close contact with our internal partners.
