Val Media is a Malaysian-based media company with a strong presence across Southeast Asia. We specialize in creating engaging and high-quality digital content that informs, entertains, and connects with audiences. As part of our expanding editorial operations, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Editor to oversee the production of articles for our platforms.

We are looking for a creative and meticulous Editor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end editorial process for articles, ensuring content is well-researched, accurate, and engaging. You will work closely with writers, content creators, and other team members to maintain the highest standards of quality and editorial integrity.

Responsibilities:

1. Write, edit, proofread, and refine articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in tone and style.
2. Provide constructive feedback to writers to help improve their content quality and writing skills.
3. Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm and develop fresh, engaging topics that align with our brand and audience interests.
4. Ensure articles meet SEO best practices, including keyword optimization and meta descriptions.
5. Verify facts and sources to ensure the credibility and reliability of all published content.
6. Manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely delivery and publication of articles.
7. Work with cross-functional teams, including designers and marketers, to enhance content with visuals and other multimedia elements.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to keep our content competitive and relevant.

Requirements:

1. Interest in consumer electronics, such as smartphones, gadgets, computing, and related software/applications.
2. Proven experience as an editor, preferably in digital media or content marketing.
3. Exceptional command of English, with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
4. Familiarity with SEO principles and experience optimizing content for search engines.
5. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards under tight deadlines.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with writers and other team members.
8. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic knowledge of HTML is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in editing content related to consumer technology, lifestyle, or similar niches.
2. Knowledge of additional Southeast Asian languages is a plus.
3. A background in journalism, communications, or a related field.
