About the Role
We seek an experienced and knowledgeable Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic remote team. In this pivotal role, you will manage payroll, employee data, and compliance across multiple regions (Asia, UK, and Europe). You will work directly with the Operations Manager and collaborate closely with senior staff to support payroll processing and administrative functions. This is a part-time, remote position, ideal for someone who is self-motivated and can work autonomously while maintaining strong communication and collaboration across various teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management:
    • Calculate and process wages and salaries for employees based on hours worked, overtime, pay raises, and shift payments.
    • Issue employees' wages via electronic transfer, cheque, or cash.
    • Initiate direct deposits and ensure timely payroll distribution.
    • Create and manage salary sheets, reports, and documentation for payroll purposes.
  • Employee Data and Records:
    • Maintain and update accurate employee records in collaboration with the HR department.
    • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
    • Track and verify employee working hours, pay rates, and absences.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Issue tax forms and assist employees with completing necessary payroll-related documentation.
    • Stay up-to-date with legal regulations surrounding payroll in multiple regions (Asia, UK, Europe).
    • Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant local and international laws.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues, including discrepancies in timesheets, payslips, and other payroll matters.
  • Assist employees in understanding and addressing any concerns with their payroll.
  • Work closely with senior management and other departments to ensure smooth payroll processing.
  • Provide payroll-related administrative support to staff as needed.
  • Provide the director and Senior Leadership Team with a comprehensive administrative support service.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education:
    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Human Resources (HR), Public Administration, Information Systems or Technology or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a remote or multi-regional environment.
    • Extensive knowledge of legal regulations related to payroll processing in Asia, UK, and Europe.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.), Google Suite, and payroll processing software.
    • Strong math and analytical skills essential for payroll calculations.
    • High typing speed (70+ words per minute) and excellent attention to detail.
  • Communication & Organizational Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills (C1 English level required).
    • Excellent multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment and collaborate effectively within a virtual team.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial reports and payroll calculations.
  • Time Management: Juggling multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Communication: Clearly explaining financial matters to both senior management and employees.
  • Problem Solving: Addressing discrepancies in payroll or financial reports and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing demands.

Infrastructure Requirements

  • Computer: Windows 10 (or newer) with 8 GB RAM
  • Typing Speed: 70+ words per minute

Contract length: 3 months - will be renewed with Performance Review result

Starting Salary: £4,000- £6,000 to be calculated pro rata upon agreed part-time hours

Schedule: part-time (UK GMT) to be confirmed

Education: A degree in any of the following fields:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll office administration
