Teaching Technician (Short Term Contract - 4 Months)
The post holder will be responsible for the preparation of the laboratories for practical sessions such as preparing clinical specimens, setting up and maintenance of lab equipment, purchasing of the consumables, and assisting with demonstrations in teaching laboratories.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaises with the student office to discuss timetables and with the academic staff to discuss equipment requirements and work plans to ensure smooth planning of the teaching sessions at laboratories.
- Organises and prepares the lab sessions including preparing chemicals and medical equipment according to the work plan with all safety and health procedures implemented to provide a safe learning and teaching environment for the staff and students.
- Maintains the inventory, particularly receiving items for the laboratory such as chemicals, apparatus, equipment, and consumables, which includes preventive maintenance/repair of the apparatus/equipment/instrument in order to maintain the laboratory supplies and quality assurance.
- Supports the work of lecturers in laboratory sessions and gives technical advice/support to students and staff on teaching laboratories related projects.
- Works closely with other teaching technicians and performs any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications: -
SPM / STPM or Diploma in any sciences related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: -
Good command of English and Malay (written & spoken).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
Minimum 1 year experience in administrative work.
Knowledge / experience in the education industry.
