Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Identify and develop new sustainability service offerings aligned with market trends and client needs.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
    • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to generate new business opportunities.
    • Support BD/Sales to prepare proposals, presentations, and tenders for sustainability projects.
    • Support training team on training content development.
    • Work with marketing to develop content for social media.
  • Service Delivery:
    • Oversee the delivery of sustainability services, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
    • Develop and implement project management processes and methodologies.
    • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
    • Build local capacity and expertise through training and knowledge transfer.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to clients and internal teams.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sustainability services team.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Develop local talent and succession plans.
  • Participate in global/network sustainability calls and communicate messages to the CER team.
  • Industry Engagement:
    • Actively participate in country sustainability forums, conferences, and initiatives.
    • Build strong partnerships with local NGOs, academic institutions, and industry experts.
    • Stay abreast of emerging sustainability trends and policies in the region and globally.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Implement effective performance metrics and reporting systems to track the impact of sustainability services.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with local regulations and Bureau Veritas’ policies and procedures.
    • Maintain local accreditation.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science/ Engineering/ Sustainability or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability consulting or related field
  • Deep understanding of ESG/Sustainability and relevant tools, standards, regulations, and frameworks
  • Extensive experience working and leading in a team-based environment
  • Ability to unlearn and relearn, open-minded and agile
  • Proactive and ability to provide solutions with good rationale and logic
  • Strong project management and personnel management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a complex environment
  • Highly motivated and team player with positive energy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English. Other languages are a plus
  • Able and willing to travel around the country
  • Excellence in presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders at various levels
  • Strong network of contacts within the sustainability community in Malaysia
