Supply Chain Strategist – Bakery Operations (Komugi)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Strategist to join our team in the bakery manufacturing sector. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, ensuring the efficient flow of materials, production scheduling, and distribution of our high-quality baked goods. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, production teams, and logistics providers to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.

You'll make a difference by:

  1. Overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  2. Ensuring the warehouse layout is optimized for efficiency, safety, and easy access to inventory.
  3. Implementing and enforcing safety procedures and standards in the warehouse.
  4. Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and movements using ERP system.
  5. Conducting quarterly inventory stock count to verify accuracy.
  6. Implementing inventory management best practices to reduce wastage.
  7. Planning and managing the logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation.
  8. Optimizing routes and transportation methods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  9. Negotiating with carriers and logistics service providers to secure competitive rates.
  10. Tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolving any issues that arise.
  11. Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing, warehouse and logistics processes for greater efficiency and cost savings.
  12. Implementing new technologies or systems that enhance the performance of warehouse and logistics operations.
  13. Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all procurement, warehouse and logistics activities.
  14. Monitoring and managing the budget for procurement, warehouse and logistics operations.
  15. Implementing cost-saving measures without compromising on service quality or safety.
  16. Analyzing procurement & logistics costs and identifying areas for reduction.
  17. Leading, training, and developing procurement, warehouse and logistics team to perform at their best.
  18. Setting performance targets for the team and monitoring progress towards achieving them.
  19. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and encouraging staff to contribute ideas for process enhancements.

What we're looking for:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement within the Food & Beverage industry, preferably in a bakery setting.
  3. Strong knowledge of F&B production processes, particularly in bakery products.
  4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proficient in inventory management software and ERP systems.
  6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast and manage budgets effectively.
  7. Experience in vendor management and contract negotiations.
  8. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
