The Impact You’ll Make

At Lam, as a Supply Chain Business Manager, you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence. Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. You’ll benchmark and monitor supplier performance to manage risk. By driving continuous supplier process improvements you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.

What You’ll Do

As a Supply Chain Business Manager, you will help drive delivery and supplier operational excellence within a global supply chain. This role is within the Supply Chain Operations team and Pilot NPI and is instrumental in helping Supply Chain navigate through record ramps and other operational complexities thrown our way. In this position, you will help manage global factories and have responsibility for multiple suppliers within the Metal Machining and Wet Dep Plastics Commodity.

  1. Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases.
  2. Defines metrics and monitors supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement. Regularly evaluates quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection.
  3. Continuously works on process improvement to deploy & develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, min/max) & manufacturing strategies.
  4. Establishes goals with suppliers to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand.
  5. Works with cross-functional commodity teams that focus on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
  6. Partners with Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Supplier Quality Engineers to accomplish tasks.
  7. Possesses strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on supporting internal and external customers.
  8. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a close-knit team setting.
  9. Works with engineering and the supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material to support customer and company requirements.
  10. Develops presentations, white papers, and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.
  11. Monitors product cost preventing negative PPV and supporting cost reduction efforts.
  12. Drives the improvement of the suppliers’ manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
  13. Manages key performance metrics - supplier OTD, consignment, lead-time reduction, inventory as E&O mitigation.
Who We’re Looking For
  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or applied sciences.
  2. 8-12 years’ experience in managing global suppliers and various commodities.
  3. Semiconductor Equipment Industry Experience is preferred.
  4. Experience in NPI, project transition, and sourcing localization will be an added advantage.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with scalable and repeatable results.
  7. Knowledge, experience, and practical use of Microsoft Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems.
  8. Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills - Macros, Pivot Tables, Data Lookup/Indexing, Dashboards.
  9. Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% (including domestic and international), mostly domestic travel for internal meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Public speaking/Executive level presentation skills.
  2. Experience in managing $80-$100M of supplier spend.

Added advantage but not compulsory:

  1. Minimum knowledge of understanding bill of material (BOM), fabrication drawing, and specification.
  2. Experience using Power BI and rapid response tools.
  3. Experience in metal or plastic machining commodity or industry.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
