Overview
Cricut is seeking an experienced and versatile Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Global Quality Engineering team in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will use your experience, expertise, and resourcefulness to identify, analyze and solve problems, develop goals and objectives to meet short-term and some long-term quality goals. The SQE will focus on supplier quality management in a contract manufacturing setup, ensure supplier performance is well within company requirements, drive improvements to reduce the number of defects and Cost of Quality, and ensure a world-class customer experience. You should be able to drive projects independently and represent QA concerns in meetings with cross-functional project teams and contract manufacturing/suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of Quality Control management process at contract manufacturing with a strong focus on continuous improvement of quality systems.
- Conduct Cricut Pre Shipment Buy Off, yield tracking/improvement & Gemba Walk.
- Perform periodic process audits & On-Going Reliability Test Audit at Contract Manufacturing.
- Maintain appropriate quality database and report Contract Manufacturing performance on a weekly basis.
- Work with Contract Manufacturing team to assure “zero defect” performance through root cause evaluation and driving corrective actions using Quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, poke yoke, and control plans.
- Initiate SCAR/8D for any non-conformance including validating the corrective action.
- Support Contract Manufacturer for supplier-related issues when needed.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
- Less than 5 years hands-on experience in Contract Manufacturing Quality & Manufacturing Management.
- Experience in ISO 9001 and system/process audit preferred.
- Experience in Finished Good consumer electronics and consumable products is preferred.
- Additional experience in plastic/metal manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and facilitation skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience in communicating with cross-functional team members and suppliers.
- Must be able to travel with 50% time on site.
