Team Leaders/Supervisors (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
The Compounding Supervisor in glove manufacturing is responsible for overseeing the formulation and preparation of rubber compounds used in the production of gloves. This role ensures that the compounding process is carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The supervisor will manage a team, monitor compound quality, and collaborate with other departments to maintain production schedules and improve process performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Compounding Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the compounding department, including the mixing and preparation of rubber compounds for glove production.
- Team Management: Lead, train, and develop compounding operators and technicians. Ensure team members adhere to safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Material Handling and Inventory Control: Ensure raw materials (rubber, chemicals, additives) are available in the correct quantities, quality, and time. Maintain proper storage and inventory management practices.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of rubber compounds to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications. Conduct regular tests and collaborate with the Quality Control department to identify and address quality issues.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess compounding processes for efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Implement improvements where necessary to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with company health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices. Conduct safety training and enforce the use of protective equipment.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve equipment or process-related issues quickly to minimize downtime. Ensure that all compounding machinery and equipment are properly maintained.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of compounding processes, material usage, production outputs, and quality checks. Prepare reports for management on operational performance and process issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production, quality control, and research & development, to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Experience: At least 2-5 years of experience in a compounding or production role within the rubber, glove manufacturing, or related industries, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of rubber compounding processes, materials, and machinery. Experience with compound formulation and quality control techniques.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and motivate a team, resolve conflicts, and maintain a productive and safe work environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address production challenges and improve processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality certifications (e.g., ISO, GMP).
