Superintendent, Production (Onshore)

Key Objectives

• Work with project engineering to ensure project deliverable align with Production operation requirement.
• Work with project in construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
• Lead Production team in hydrocarbon commissioning and plant start up activities.
• Focal person in Onshore (Production) Operation Readiness and assurance (ORA) preparation.
• Ensure safe and cost-effective operation to meet production and reliability targets in compliance with SSHE (Safety, Security, Health, and Environment) requirement.
• Lead, manage, plan, organize all aspects of Onshore Plant production Operation activities, including providing direction of the Operations workforce at site.
• Ensure production systems are operated safely and in compliance with Work Instruction, Standard Operating Procedures and Guideline.
• Ensure that the process equipment and utilities are maintained safely, efficiently and with minimal environmental impact in accordance with current legislation, Company Management System, and the Life Cycle Plan.

Principal Accountabilities

Project Phase

• Be the operation representative in project phases and represent asset owner to ensure that the facilities are designed and built to a desired standard.
• Provide Operability and Maintainability input to the project including operation lesson learnt.
• Ensure operability, maintainability, and human factor are considered in the facilities design.
• Ensure Engineering design including PFD/UFD/P&ID, HAZOP, 2D/3D model Reviews, Engineering workshops and other necessary Project Process reviews are adequately represented from the Operations and Maintenance perspective.
• Ensure the Start-up requirements are identified and incorporated.
• Provide in depth knowledge of the facilities for the start-up, shutdown, isolation, turnaround, and normal operation of the plant, including the ability to quickly respond to any plant upset to ensure the highest availability of the plant.
• Develop Detailed operating manual/procedure/guideline prior entering operation phase.
• Ensure Onshore (Production) Operation Readiness and assurance (ORA) preparation activities are in place and ready to move to operation phase.

Operations Phase

• Responsible and accountable the operation of Onshore Gas Plant to ensure the optimize of production and meet require specification and target while maintain the highest SSHE performance and maximum plant availability.
• Monitor and enforcement of the Company’s SSHE policy, rules and regulations to all areas of activities at site.
• Operate production and associated utility systems in a safe and controlled manner with minimal environmental impact and in compliance with legislation and operations procedures and instructions.
• Identify necessary corrective work or improvement required for equipment, including process and system integrity. Arrange, coordinate with relevant parties to raise the necessary Work Orders for rectification or improvements.
• Supervise the preparation and isolation of work areas or equipment where required.
• Develop and implement production operational procedures and work instructions, including monitoring of all personnel and activities to ensure compliance with the relevant procedures.
• Collaborate and follow up on work priorities and scheduling with Maintenance and contractors. Define operation constrain and provide appropriate recommendation to minimize production downtime and loss.
• Responsible person as production lead during the Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS).
• Administration, preparation, analyze and coordination of various production reports.
• Collaborate with Support teams with respect to facilities optimization and integrity assurance.
• Effectively maintaining internal and external communications with a broad variety of engineering disciplines and management
• Perform Performance Development Appraisal (PDA) of subordinate as per Company delegation role

Safety Responsibilities

• Emergency Response Team key role (Deputy On-Scene Commander/Shutdown Team Leader or as delegated).
• Ensure that all contractors and vendors are made aware of their responsibilities for managing health, safety, and emergency response.
• Ensuring that the operations and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with the applicable Management System, Company Policies, Procedures, work instructions and regulatory requirements.
• Actively promotes SSHE activities, manages SSHE risks and shares learning’s. Risk and control framework is effectively implemented.
• Promote and Implementation of Company Stop Work Policy.
• Regularly audit and inspect worksites to ensure the adherence to statutory and Company’s standard.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering Process, Petroleum or related fields or having relevant experience:
• At least 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas operating field (SEA preferable).
• At least 10 years as Team lead role (Superintendent or acting Superintendent) of experience Onshore Midstream or Refinery operation in a similar plant like OGP2
• In depth knowledge understanding and experience of Onshore Midstream/Refinery operations.
• Familiar with the Malaysian onshore regulations regarding oil and gas operations
• Essential knowledge on H2S sour service and CO2 relevant to design and operation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
• Stakeholder Management skills - Proven ability to build strong working relationship with internal and external parties.
• Excellent in English Language.
• Demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills and integrity.
• Competent in Management of Major Emergency.
