As a member of Supply Chain Team, the Strategic Buyer will be responsible to lead sourcing spend categories, negotiating, and deal-making. Supports category strategy development and deliver projects to translate these strategies into validated cost savings. Based at UOA Business Park, Shah Alam, this this full-time position will report to Senior Buyer.

The Role

Key responsibilities include the following:

1. Lead sourcing efforts for spend categories, including negotiation and deal-making.
2. Support the development of category strategies and deliver projects that translate these strategies into validated cost savings.
3. Involve in both strategic and transactional buying, while maintaining high efficiency and process-driven approaches in administrative tasks related to raising and actioning purchase orders in line with Lear’s procurement-to-pay system.
4. Provide strategic buying/ problem solutions to stakeholders.
5. Build strong relationships and engage stakeholders within operational teams, advising, managing, constructively challenging, and delivering best value spend options for a range of indirect and direct spend.
6. Ensure timely completion of tasks.
7. Track purchasing activities and measurements.
8. Report progress and challenges daily/ weekly as requested.
9. Work with a central shared service Non-Production Purchasing function.
10. Engage in sourcing and procurement activities as part of the overall procurement strategy.
11. Develop strategies and report on compliance, procurement, and operational KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business/ Supply Chain or related fields.
• Experience of operational, strategic sourcing, category and tactical activity is a plus.
• Experience in Purchasing in regional/ MNS/ large corporation with proven experience collaborating various departments such as Finance, Logistics, HR, Procurement and or IT.
• Enthusiastic and “can do” personality.
• Excellent attention to detail, able to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
• Willing to work in UOA Business Park, Shah Alam.
