Store Manager - Grocery Retail
Job description
We are seeking a Store Manager for a retail company located in the Cayman Islands.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee gross profit, sales budgets, payroll, overall store expenses, and the achievement of financial goals.
- Plan and manage budgets concerning profit and loss.
- Establish and track store objectives aimed at maximizing profitability and reaching sales targets.
- Train and develop assistant store managers in all aspects of store operations and leadership skills.
- Lead the training and development efforts for managers, supervisors, and staff.
- Inspire and direct the team to enhance profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Optimize the use of shelf space and merchandise to boost sales and profits.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Department on merchandising, pricing, and inventory control to drive sales and productivity.
- Communicate and deploy innovative marketing strategies.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely submission of necessary reports.
- Review quarterly inventory results conducted by external auditors.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, training, performance evaluations, and employee development in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage and enforce compliance with company health and safety standards, including sanitation, risk management, and asset management protocols.
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and revision of departmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Exhibit leadership and decision-making skills that align with company expectations and standards.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, writing, and speaking English.
- Intermediate math skills and the ability to follow company guidelines.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- Understanding of business fundamentals is required.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Capable of working independently and being self-motivated.
- Possess positive interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work various hours/days as needed by the store or department.
- Initiative to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong management and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to make decisions and provide guidance.
- Willingness to learn about P&L reports and company guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Capability to withstand varying temperatures.
- A successful track record of 10-15 years in managerial roles within warehouse or retail operations, or related fields.
