Engineering Executive – Store and Waste Management is responsible for supervising the engineering store operations, ensuring efficient inventory management of spare parts and equipment, and overseeing the proper handling, segregation, and disposal of waste materials. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, optimizing store operations, and supporting engineering and maintenance teams with the timely availability of materials.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Store & Inventory Management
Supervise the receiving, storing, and issuing of engineering spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or ERP software.
Conduct regular stock audits to prevent shortages, overstocking, and discrepancies.
Ensure all materials are properly labeled, categorized, and stored safely.
Coordinate with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts.
2. Waste Management & Environmental Compliance
Oversee waste collection, segregation, recycling, and disposal processes in compliance with environmental laws.
Ensure hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials are properly handled and disposed of.
Maintain waste disposal records for audits and regulatory compliance.
Implement best practices for waste reduction, reuse, and sustainable disposal methods.
Coordinate with external vendors for waste disposal and recycling services.
3. Procurement & Supplier Coordination
Assist in sourcing and procuring spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Track purchase requisitions, follow up on orders, and ensure timely deliveries.
Work with suppliers and vendors for competitive pricing and quality assurance.
Negotiate service agreements with waste management and recycling contractors.
4. Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards for storage and waste management.
Train store personnel and maintenance staff on proper waste handling and disposal procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions for safety improvements.
Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and other relevant regulations.
5. Reporting & Process Improvement
Prepare reports on inventory status, waste disposal metrics, and stock movement trends.
Analyze data to optimize store management and waste reduction initiatives.
Implement 5S, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies for efficient store operations.
Support sustainability initiatives to minimize waste and improve environmental impact.
Qualifications/EXPERIENCE
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
3 + years of experience in engineering store management, inventory control, or waste management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills.
Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in CMMS (SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent) and ERP systems for inventory tracking.
Strong understanding of waste management processes and environmental regulations.
Knowledge of spare parts classification and stock control best practices.
