Job Summary

• Seeking an individual to join Standard Chartered as a Product Manager in the Storage and Backup team, under the Private Cloud Infrastructure domain. The role entails working with architecture, engineering, support, infrastructure teams, vendors and stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment, life cycle management and usage of the product in the bank. This role will play a critical part in helping shape and guide the future opportunities for new product selection, cost savings and deployment of new solutions in the various data centres under management. They will also assist in working with the teams to look at alternative solutions where required. This individual will additionally be responsible for managing the product catalogue, contract and financial management of the budget.
• Transformation, Technology & Operations (TTO) is a global organisation providing Cloud, Data, End User, Infrastructure, Integration, IT Service Management, Network and Security capabilities to all our clients and colleagues globally with an operating budget of $500mil USD and $200mil USD of change.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
• Knowledge of storage products either by hands on experience, previously working for a storage vendor or in an infrastructure team that engaged significantly with storage.
• Understand the overall infrastructure and architectural designs that will be adopted by the technology teams and business users.
• Work interdependently, lead initiatives and influence.
• Efficiently manage stakeholders and communicate effectively.
• Solve complex problems by collaborating with relevant teams to improve customer journey and experience.
• Ensure the inventory is up to date and accurate to support estate management programs.
• Drive refresh activities including budgeting, procurement and coordination with engineering and delivery teams to meet aggressive timelines.
• Create and update core technical documents that will be translated to standards adopted by the bank.
• Work with security and compliance teams to ensure systems are compliant and maintain high security hygiene.
• Collaborate with finance to adhere to budgets and pricing models.
• Anticipate and evaluate business challenges, assisting with prioritising items in the backlog.
• Develop opportunities for innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver new solutions and practices to ensure the organisation capitalises on industry learning and growth.
• Contribute to new business initiatives and projects.
• Appraise and interpret complex requirements to understand the impact on the organisation's ability to deliver change.

Processes
• Manage product lifecycle.
• Realize the end-to-end delivery practice and its associated processes.
• Responsible for delivery processes and risk management of change.
• Drive optimisation of delivery by reviewing and optimising data related to effectiveness of change.

Skills and Experience

Risk Management
• Own the risks linked to the delivery and maintenance of code in production.
• Manage end-to-end risks associated with dev/test environments and requisite tooling.
• Drive closure of risks, operational events and audit findings on time.
• Educate the team on risk management and continual mitigating of risk.
• Comply with organisation risk management framework.
• Find automated solutions to reduce risk.

Governance
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework and relevant requirements for the role.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Software skills in Python with experience in Scripting – BASH, KSH, PowerShell
