State Registered Nurse (Operating Theatre)

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. The Registered Nurse is responsible for executing all aspects of care to patients as defined in the SOP for each unit and shall be held accountable for the patient outcomes under her/his care.

The goal is to promote patient well-being by providing high-quality nursing care.

YOUR JOB SUMMARY:

Provider of Care
As a provider of nursing care, the Staff Nurse uses his/her OT Nursing knowledge, experience, and protocol to formulate and develop an individualized nursing care plan by:

1. Assessing Patient
   • Check patient in holding area with OT checklist to ensure all information is correct.
   • Identifies and documents changes in health status which may interfere with planned surgery.
   • Notifies anaesthetist or surgeon of the changes in health status.
2. Planning for Nursing Care
   • Daily clean and prepare OT/unit (according to OT standards) in readiness for patients.
   • Ensure all equipment in OT/unit is available and in good working condition.
   • Once notified of cases, collect all necessary instruments/disposables – notify nurse manager if items are not available.
3. Implementing the Care Plans
   • Carries out care plan according to the OT protocol by documenting correctly in the intra-operative report.
   • Participates in the correct billing of patients by charging all disposables used.
   • Maintains and promotes the following for patients:
   • Respiratory function (e.g., O2 therapy, correct positioning, etc.).
   • Nutritional status (e.g., I.V. infusions, blood transfusion, etc.).
   • An environment which supports physiological functioning, comfort, and relief of pain.
   • All aspects of hygiene and physical safety (e.g., constant hand wash & adherence to P&PS of surgical aseptic).
4. You will need to accomplish any other tasks given from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess a Diploma/Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in the nursing field.
• Post Basic will be an added advantage.
• Must have valid LJM & Annual Practising Certificate / Retention of Name.
• Required to work shifts.
• Required to work in Kota Damansara.
• Job Types: Full-time.
