STAFF NURSE

JOB REQUIREMENT:

MIN. QUALIFICATION: Diploma in Nursing

WORKING EXPERIENCES: At least 2 years of working experience in the related field.

Possess: 'Perakuan Pendaftaran' from Malaysia Nursing Board & valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Receive the daily reports of every patient.
2. Upon taking over report, do ward round in the unit together with the team members to assess patient condition and plan nursing care.
3. Conduct regular nursing rounds on all patients in the ward to ascertain any additional needs and provide psychological support.
4. Report all abnormal findings and progress of patients to the relevant doctors/consultants.
5. Participate in doctors/consultants ward rounds and assist in procedures when required.
6. Carry out doctors’/consultants’ orders pertaining to patient care and delegate tasks to other team members.
7. Participate in the care and administration of medication in accordance with Hospital Policies and Procedures.
8. Responsible to abide by Hospital Policies and Protocol for Transfusion of Blood and Blood Products.
9. Maintain safety policy and inform Nurse Manager/Acting Nurse Manager of any incidents and changes affecting standards of care. Practice and report with effective documentation.
10. Establish and develop effective communication with all disciplines, patients, and relatives to achieve optimal patient satisfaction.
11. Escort patients to other hospitals/institutions/home.
12. Attend to answer patient’s call bell promptly.
13. Contribute suggestions in periodic revising and upgrading Nursing Policies and Procedures.
14. Practice and ensure effective records/charging of procedures and supplies used in rendering patient care.
15. Assist in updating and recording accurately daily floor census, monthly statistics, and other relevant records.
16. Check and maintain accurate record of DDA drugs with the incoming Nurse In-Charge every shift.
17. Operate specialized equipment assigned to the unit and provide assistance/guidance pertaining to care and usage for all new staff.
18. Check resuscitation trolley every shift/daily/emergency event and replenish stock as needed.
19. Assist in the maintenance of instruments and equipment by proper cleaning, handling, and utilizing as directed.
