Ansell is looking for Sr Specialist, Logistics (Trade Compliance) based in Cyberjaya.

This role will be responsible for overseeing import/export processes and controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with the relevant Government Regulations. You will participate and engage with ASIA PACIFIC (APAC) government regulators and industry partners.

What your role will be in details?

You will be:

  • Driving compliance & responsible for developing and establishing standard operational policies/procedures/guidelines to ensure smooth and safe flow of goods and materials to meet customer order fulfilment.
  • Providing clear guidance on Trade Compliance, customs and international regulatory compliance and requirements to key business stakeholders.
  • Being the resident expert on trade compliance or customs issues to the business and key stakeholders and leading with the goal of eliminating roadblocks at the time of customs formalities.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain team for management of customs broker escalations on regulatory compliance issues gating importation to ensure that Ansell’s Supply Chain is not disrupted.
  • Periodically participating or engaging with customs and other government authorities.
  • Partnering with Tax in relation to transfer pricing and customs valuation rules.
  • Conducting periodic process compliance audits.
  • Analyzing data to make cost/service decisions, recommendations, and process improvements.
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities related to respective trade compliance.
  • Utilizing various methodologies, such as process mapping, Lean Logistics, and Six Sigma to plan improvements in process and execution.
  • Producing monthly reports and metrics for management. Developing improvement strategies based on reported results and communicating new plans to the business.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for problems. Presenting analytics and recommended solutions to business.
  • Ensuring compliance with Company’s policies & legal requirements, all contracts, laws, and government requirements of all business activities.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of records/documents and other details for our requirements as well as Government’s requirements.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the superior from time to time and overseeing new project start-ups & project management.

What you will bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics or Business or equivalent or higher.
  • Experience in Transportation Logistics, Freight Forwarding Logistics operating/functional role & responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of import/export customs & trade compliance regulations in the APAC Region.
  • Knowledge in Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Certificates of Origin in the APAC region.
  • Familiarity with customs brokerage operations and processes.
  • Solid understanding of the principles of supply chain management, international logistics, and trade regulations.
  • Knowledgeable, experienced, and proven ability to efficiently coordinate with customs, trade authorities, and other local authorities to resolve audits, challenges, and queries.
  • Acquired knowledge in general shipping matters – i.e., L/C, shipping documentation, marine claims, CFS & Port operations, clearance, freighting, shipment terms, Incoterms, HS code, etc.
