POSITION SUMMARY :
Basic functions include planning, scheduling, resource allocation, problem-solving, interviewing, staffing, and employee relations. Acts as a coach and facilitator to lead team members to achieve operational goals and objectives. Builds a shared responsibility work team through development of individual & team skills and competencies. Gets involved with special projects and with the development and delivery of new products and assemblies. Drives activities to improve production efficiency and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develops, communicates, and implements plans consistent with organizational and business unit goals, including expense and capital budgeting, resource planning, goal setting, and prioritizing and managing time.
- Responsible and accountable for WIP reduction, control, and elimination of Aging Work Orders.
- Execution and management of Scrap reduction, raising hands whenever there is any abnormality in day-to-day, shift-to-shift production that may cause scrap to be generated.
- Develops and leads Productivity improvement initiatives, meeting year-to-year KPIs.
- Responsible and accountable for Day-To-Day Testing and Failure Analysis activities.
- Establishes departmental yearly/monthly objectives and takes initiative to lead the production team to achieve the goals and objectives.
- Responsible for managing and leading the respective AEMY team (Production, Testing, and Failure analysis) group of DL and IDL (Engineers and Technicians) to support meeting multisite demand.
- Leading Manufacturing Process Engineering development activities by working closely with the Process Engineering Team and Manufacturing Engineering Dept.
- Responsible for maintaining a linear product rate by reviewing demand with the Planning Team and linearizing the production rate, avoiding fluctuations.
- Creates an environment that stimulates new ideas, provides effective work direction and motivation, and sets challenging work goals through personal growth, respect, trust, and empowerment of the individual.
- Provides coaching, mentoring, employee development, and team-building to employees. Trains production supervisors, trainers, and line leaders to improve their management skills.
- Works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production Planning, Materials, Purchasing, and other key interfaces to review, analyze, and optimize new and existing products and processes.
- Teams up with team members to improve product quality and On-Time-Delivery to meet customers’ requirements.
- Improves production efficiency and reduces lead time from order placement to finished goods delivery.
- Develops and implements structures that promote work team ownership of continuous improvement and corrective action processes.
- Facilitates continuous improvement actions in production and engineering related areas.
- Leads the team to drive Kaizen/QCC events.
- Reinforces and maintains a safe working environment, ensuring people and product safety.
- Ensures activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies, and general duty of care.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat.
- Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS :

- Strong working knowledge of the AE performance appraisal process and familiarity with applicable rules governing the relationship between employee and employer.
EXPERIENCE :
Essential:
- Prefer 10+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing and Operations Management.
- Proven track record of successfully optimizing and improving back-end manufacturing processes using Lean Six Sigma and other quality improvement methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Power Semiconductors Manufacturing and 10K cleanroom operations and protocols.
- Demonstrated expertise in back-end power semiconductor processes, including:
- 5mil, 10mil & 15mil Al wedge wire bonding.
- Solder-paste printing and component placement.
- MCM automated component mounting.
- SST vacuum reflow and other reflow technologies.
- LID/Shell attach and potting.
- Conformal coating.
- Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) techniques.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- PC hardware and systems literacy.
- Experience with a high mix/mixed volume part and product manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in an Operations/Manufacturing/Repair environment required.
Desirable:
- Experience in successfully managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in SMT related assembly, including:
- Reflow process.
- Soldering process.
- Wirebonding process.
- Washing/potting process.
- Familiar with SAP ERP.
- Prefer self-directed work teams experience.
- Knowledge of 6 Sigma management.
EDUCATION :
Essential:
- Bachelor degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Desirable:
- Master degree is preferred.
