JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Manager Industrial Engineering will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control globally. The Sr Manager Industrial Engineering will drive the following goals: profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and clearly communicate all Industrial Engineering strategies for all global projects and initiatives.
- Ensure the standardization of Jabil processes throughout all regions worldwide in accordance with the global direction.
- Ensure the standardization of data within the Jabil systems.
- Work with the Departmental, Operations, and Regional Vice Presidents and Managers to implement global projects designed to improve the current value stream process and drive cost savings.
- Initiate and manage cost-saving projects and provide Industrial Engineers and their managers training and mentoring globally.
- Define training and competency requirements for all Industrial Engineering functions.
- Identify, communicate, and/or implement new technical solutions related to IE and manufacturing processes.
- Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity in order to support process improvement through the organization.
- Report and drive improvement globally through the monitoring of the key Industrial Engineering metrics.
- Develop and maintain the Industrial Engineering succession plan.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Key Requirements:
- Understanding and application of a broad range of industrial engineering tools (i.e., work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, operations research, etc.).
- Understanding of Jabil’s global strategies and direction.
- Understanding of Jabil’s regional facilities, regional capabilities, and how they tie back to the Jabil strategies and direction.
- Understanding of the complete Sales to Payment process.
- Strong financial and analytical ability.
- Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and managing continuous improvements and cost reduction programs.
- Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and e-mail skills required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering required.
MS in Industrial Engineering or MBA preferred.
Lean Silver Certificate or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
At least 8 years of working experience in the Industrial Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience.
Or a combination of education, experience, and/or training.
