Job description

As Sr Account Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Handling full set accounts and performing month-end closing in a timely manner.
  • Performing bookkeeping duties involving updating of ledgers, bank reconciliation, debtors aging, and invoicing.
  • Preparing management reports, financial analysis, tax computation, quarterly and yearly forecasts, and budgets.
  • Supervising customer collections and creditor payments.
  • Ensuring timely bank payments.
  • Planning and preparing audit timetables for the company.
  • Assisting in yearly audits and tax preparation.
  • Managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Liaising with external parties, including auditors, tax consultants, solicitors, bankers, company secretaries, and other professionals, to ensure compliance with all audit, tax, and statutory obligations.
  • Performing cost accounting and analysis, including budget preparation, variance analysis, and cost reporting.
  • Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, including the timely submission of financial reports.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, and implementing necessary process improvements.

Requirements:

  • At least a Degree in Accountancy, part professional qualifications, or equivalent.
  • Candidates who are currently pursuing ACCA are encouraged to apply.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations, experience with general ledger and bookkeeping functions.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like SQL and advanced MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with large volumes of data and drive insights.
  • Able to work under stress and in a challenging environment to deliver tasks according to deadlines.
  • Good command and communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is optional.
