Design, update, and maintain a BNM-aligned Recovery Plan, including governance structures, triggers, and actionable strategies to address financial distress.
Ensure adherence to BNM’s Policy Document on Recovery Planning, including timelines for updates, scenario selection, and regulatory reporting.
Ensure that the Recovery Plan remains relevant, updated, and effectively integrates with the bank’s overall risk management framework.
Conduct rigorous stress tests and scenario analyses (e.g., liquidity crises, market shocks) to evaluate recovery strategies.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Banking Economics & Analytics, Business Units) to model impacts and ensure plan effectiveness.
Monitor and track key financial and operational indicators that may necessitate recovery actions.
Facilitate periodic drills or simulations to test the effectiveness of recovery strategies.
Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and the Board Risk Committee on recovery planning initiatives.
Ensure alignment of the Recovery Plan with BNM's regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Address regulatory queries and recommendations, ensuring the organization remains fully compliant.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports to BNM, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Train and educate internal stakeholders on recovery planning concepts, requirements, and execution.
Promote awareness of regulatory expectations and the importance of recovery preparedness across the organization.
Act as the primary contact during regulatory audits, addressing inquiries and implementing corrective actions.
Continuously supervise and provide guidance to subordinates to ensure knowledge retention.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
Professional certification e.g., Certification in Bank Risk Management by AICB, CB or related to risk management is an added advantage.
Minimum five (5) years of working experience in financial institution, preferably in risk management.
Strong understanding of BNM Recovery Planning requirements, Basel regulatory requirements, ICAAP, and recovery resolution frameworks.
Strong understanding in stress-testing tools, data analytics, and financial modeling.
Strong understanding of the local and global financial services industry and market.
