Specialist, Field Sales

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Field Sales Specialist to be based in Melaka, Malaysia who is able to convince the best restaurants in Malaysia to join foodpanda. This role will be reporting to the Lead, Field Sales, in the Commercial department.

Responsibilities

1. Drive B2B sales, seek and secure new partnerships with vendors.
2. Have a keen interest in the food and beverage industry with a desire to sign up the best local and international vendors.
3. Be the local market expert: know the best restaurants & shops in Malaysia and provide recommendations.
4. Gather feedback from restaurants and shops, monitor competitor activity, and provide recommendations for improvements to management.
5. Conduct cold calls and walk-ins, schedule in-person meetings, and sell foodpanda services to potential vendors.
6. Exceed sales targets & performance-based goals while working independently.
7. Become part of our international network and high-skilled team.
8. Gain an inside perspective of our fast-growing business by being responsible for the business from day one.
9. Manage a portfolio of vendors, including restaurant & shop accounts, and exceed goals for account retention, development, and maintenance.

What You Need To Be Successful

1. Successfully completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree.
2. At least 2 years of work experience in consulting, e-commerce, or start-up; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
3. Strong management skills: manage and motivate your team in the field.
4. Flexibility, as restaurants do not always operate on 9-to-5 schedules.
5. Outgoing and confident in appearance.
6. Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and under pressure.
7. Proactive and capable of leading independent projects.
8. An ‘out-of-the-box’ thinker who wants to constantly challenge the status quo.
9. Background in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, startup/tech environments preferred.
10. Fluency in English (our corporate language) and great communication skills.
