What will I be doing?

  1. Providing and serving guests in a professional manner to ensure great satisfaction in wine service and set up according to Hilton Wine Experience standards.
  2. Coordinating and accomplishing tasks and assignments as assigned by the Food & Beverage Director.
  3. Guiding and supervising the work of wine agents to improve and maintain the standards of Hilton Wine Experience.
  4. Ensuring the correct sequence of wine service is expertly executed, exceeding expectations.
  5. Assisting the Food & Beverage Director in training and other wine-related duties.
  6. Leading wine agents by exemplary working attitude and good organizing skills.
  7. Developing and maintaining training, supervision, and discipline for all wine agents.
  8. Creating and maintaining a highly professional relationship with guests in the area of wines.
  9. Ensuring a successful handling of the outlet’s wine matters.
  10. Following service standards of the outlet you are attached to, above the wine service standard.
  11. Exhibiting good upselling and recommending skills.
  12. Ensuring correct and consistent wine service techniques for various meal periods and outlets.
  13. Anticipating stock and supplies and assuring their availability.
  14. Responsible for daily house pour inventory performed by the wine agents.
  15. Managing all wine accessories and equipment maintenance.
  16. Observing daily conditions of the cellar and wines in the outlets; making recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  17. Assisting the Food & Beverage Director in preparing manning schedules to control labor costs and overtime.
  18. Understanding all food and beverage items offered, including ingredients and methods of preparation in all outlets.
  19. Having in-depth knowledge of beverages, liquor, cocktails, and spirits.
  20. Attending and participating in all required meetings.
  21. Promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate.
  22. Promoting good public relations and handling complaints or concerns of guests.
  23. Handling all inventories directly involved with the wine program.
  24. Being well-versed in computer programs and knowledge of POS systems.
  25. Handling operation problems, guest complaints, and feedback.
  26. Responding properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  27. Performing other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and team members.
  28. Controlling standards, performance, employees' conduct, dress code, appearance, sanitation, etc., according to established policies.

What are we looking for?

Candidate to have excellent wine and communication skills. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the service industry, with good exposure to an established wine program. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

As Sommelier serving Hilton Brands, you will always be working on behalf of our Guests and with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • 2-4 years in a managerial position in a 4 / 5-star category hotel.
  • Good English skills, both written and verbal to meet business needs.
  • Familiarity with computer systems.
  • Motivated and committed, approaching all tasks with enthusiasm and seizing opportunities to learn new skills or knowledge in order to improve personal performance.
  • Flexible and responds quickly and positively to changing requirements.
  • Maintain high team focus by showing cooperation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and training skills.
  • Guest-oriented and able to confidently build and exceed service standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of service, cost control in F&B, labour controls, beverage menu writing, maintenance, merchandising, computer, and accounting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Key strengths in people management communication and planning.
  • Show commitment and ability to develop as an Outlet Manager in your next role.
  • Outgoing personality and willingness to work long hours.
