Sofware Quality Engineer (Tester)

Job Responsibilities

1. API Testing: Demonstrate proficiency in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Soap UI).
2. Testing Methodologies: Apply a thorough understanding of various testing methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
3. Domain Knowledge: Show familiarity with banking domain applications (e.g., Payments, Loans, STP systems) and regulatory requirements.
4. Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation of testing artifacts, including Test Plans, Test Specifications, Test Cases, and Test Results.
5. Requirements Traceability: Ensure adherence to the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and manage test cases effectively.
6. Reviews and Inspections: Conduct reviews and inspections to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
7. Test Execution: Execute test cases and meticulously report test results, ensuring thorough analysis and documentation.
8. System Architecture: Understand system architecture concepts, including Front-end applications, Middleware, and Backend systems.
9. Impact and Root Cause Analysis: Perform impact analysis and root cause analysis on identified issues, with a focus on mitigation planning.
10. Resource Planning: Plan and manage testing resources effectively.
11. Team Mentoring: Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and efficiency.
12. Testing Tools: Utilize testing management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) effectively.
13. Team Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment, demonstrating a willingness to meet project deadlines and handle urgent issues.

Requirements

1. Proven experience as a Functional Tester with a strong focus on API testing.
2. Testing Tools: Proficiency in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Soap UI) and testing management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
3. Domain Expertise: Familiarity with banking domain applications and regulatory requirements.
4. Documentation Skills: Ability to document testing artifacts clearly and comprehensively.
5. Analytical Skills: Strong capability in impact analysis, root cause analysis, and mitigation planning.
6. Team Skills: Demonstrated ability to train and mentor team members, along with effective resource planning and management.
7. Automation Knowledge: Additional experience or knowledge in test automation tools (e.g., Katalon) is advantageous.
8. Backend and Database Testing: Good knowledge of backend systems and database testing is preferred.
9. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA engineering. For Seniors, minimum of 6 years of experience.
10. Proficiency in test management and automation tools.
