Responsibilities

1. Contribute thoughts positively within the Agile development team and demonstrate an enthusiastic ‘can-do’ attitude.
2. Work closely with Development Managers, Team Leaders, and other Software Engineers to build well-architected cloud-hosted and on-premises enterprise solutions.
3. Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Product Owners, Front-end Development Engineers, Test Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure features are delivered to a high standard.
4. Collaborate with the Product Design Team to create an optimal user experience.
5. Work across the Software Development Lifecycle ensuring that our products are delivered to a published roadmap within planned release cycles.
6. Work within an Agile Development Team using e.g., Scrum framework.
7. Contribute towards defining and developing a Sprint backlog to achieve the goals set out by our Product team.
8. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix software defects.
9. Provide unit tests to support and validate any development work undertaken.
10. Contribute to the Development Team’s working practices and technology decisions.
11. Create necessary documentation relating to work produced.
12. Perform tasks with limited supervision and require substantial use of independent judgment within the scope.

Skills and Experience

1. At least 2 years’ experience in a Software Development role is preferred.
2. Demonstrable experience implementing NodeJS programming best practices.
3. A proven ability to deliver technical features within an enterprise application.
4. Experience using Source Control, preferably Git.
5. Basic understanding of UX / Design.
6. Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in English.
7. Experience writing backend and front-end unit tests is preferred.
8. Understanding of Agile software development methodologies/frameworks such as Scrum.
9. Database development experience preferably in PostgreSQL.
10. Knowledge using CI/CD tools specifically Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, TeamCity, Octopus, Chef.
