The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia, a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

As a member of the developers group providing strategic solutions and consulting on Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) solutions to support the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) of the semiconductor plant in Penang, your daily tasks will include:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Provide expert advice and strategic consulting on CIM solutions to optimize manufacturing processes
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of current systems to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategic solutions
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of CIM solutions, including design specifications, user manuals, and best practices
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members and stakeholders to share knowledge and ensure effective use of CIM solutions
• Analyze manufacturing workflows and processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
• Design and implement CIM solutions that enhance the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing operations
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions to ensure they meet the desired objectives
• Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation in manufacturing processes
• Propose and implement improvements to existing CIM solutions to enhance their functionality and performance
• Work closely with other developers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of CIM solutions with MES and other systems
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing CIM solutions, addressing any issues or bugs that arise
• Respond promptly to user inquiries and provide technical assistance as needed

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Good communication skills (Verbal and Written) especially in meetings and reviews with all levels and departments
• Able to work in an intercultural team
• Strong interest in modern technologies, agile mindset and ability to work under pressure
• Reliability and flexibility to work in a pioneer team
• Technical expertise in a modern MES system landscape (R2R/SPC/FDC/RMS/RTD/DWH, etc.) and advanced knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing are desirable
• Conception of the change management process/system (workflow, change recognizability)
• Knowledge of programming languages like C++, Java
• Oracle DB & noSQL DB
• Software Configuration Management, Build systems and version control
• Structured and independent way of working, analytical skills
• Willingness to take over responsibility
• Experience with project management tools and processes (e.g., Confluence, Jira)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), German skills are a plus
