The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia, a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and the first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

As a Software Developer in the Digital Manufacture department, you will develop and deliver, together with an internationally distributed team, software applications and solutions within the Mobility Electronics (ME) sector. Become part of our team and contribute to the future of ME!

In your role you will:

1. Develop software for various plants, an enabler for innovation in the semiconductor industry. We work on techniques which increase the quality of fabrication.
2. Design, develop, test, document, deploy and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software while ensuring performance and quality standards.
3. Analyze, debug and solve defects of existing functionalities.
4. Participate actively in code reviews.
5. Work in an agile environment within internationally distributed teams.
6. Guide and mentor less experienced team members as well as contribute to technical onboarding of new joiners.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
2. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
3. Good communication skills (Verbal and Written) especially in meetings and reviews with all levels and departments.
4. Able to work in an intercultural team.
5. Strong interest in modern technologies, agile mindset and ability to work under pressure.
6. Reliability and flexibility to work in a pioneer team.
7. Knowledge of programming languages like C++, C, Java, Go.
8. Infrastructure automation, system configuration and Continuous Integration (e.g., Jenkins) as well as experience in Orchestration (e.g., Docker ecosystem).
9. Software Configuration Management, Build systems and version control (e.g., Git, Subversion, Maven, Sonatype Nexus, SonarQube).
10. REST Services.
11. Testing frameworks.
12. Oracle DB & noSQL DB.
13. Structured and independent way of working, analytical skills.
14. Willingness to take over responsibility.
15. Experience with project management tools and processes (e.g., Confluence, Jira).
16. Technical background within semiconductor business.
17. Fluent in English (written and spoken), German skills are a plus.
