Social Management Executive (Environment & Social)

About the role

This is a full-time role with West Borneo Construction Sdn Bhd based in Kuching Division, Sarawak. As the Social Management Executive (Environment & Social), you will be responsible for managing the environmental and social impact of the company's construction projects in the region.

What you'll be doing

• Report to Social Management Manager
• Implementing social management plan based on SIA
• Conducting environmental and social impact assessments and monitoring programmes
• Liaising with local communities, authorities and other stakeholders to address environmental and social concerns
• Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental and social regulations and standards
• Providing training and support to project teams on environmental and social management practices
• Preparing environmental and social reports for management and regulatory bodies

What we're looking for

• Degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a project similar to the task related to Social Management associated with construction project
• Knowledge of local regulations and customs, and good networking with community leaders and government representatives is an advantage
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Able to work closely with colleagues and partners within the organisation to implement CSR proposals/initiatives where necessary and community investment project plan
