SMALLHOLDER INCLUSION PROGRAM EXECUTIVE

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Science or Plantation Management or related field.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in field operations, smallholder engagement, or sustainable agriculture (preferably in the oil palm industry). Experience with certification programs (e.g. RSPO, MSPO) is a must.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of sustainable farming practices and oil palm cultivation.
• Proficiency in using office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel) and data management tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
• A high proficiency in English with good communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible on the implementation of projects and meet given deadlines.
• A strong understanding of EUDR requirements and the ability to create accurate and compliant polygons for smallholder farms using GIS software is an advantage.
• A passion for sustainability and community development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Ability to travel frequently to smallholder locations and dealers/traders’ collection centres (CC).

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluating the implementation of the company Smallholder Inclusion Program by developing and maintaining strong relationships with dealers/traders and smallholders, ensuring effective communication and engagement in the inclusion program.
• Act as the advisory and technical expert on ISH RSPO Program and operational matters with supply chain traceability.
• Assist smallholders in the process of certification (e.g. ISH RSPO), ensuring compliance with all necessary standards and requirements.
• Organize and conduct training sessions for smallholders on sustainable palm oil production, environmental best practices, and certification processes.
• Provide ongoing technical support to smallholders in the areas of crop management, land use, and environmental conservation.
• Monitor smallholder performance and progress in achieving sustainability goals, ensuring the timely submission of reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare regular progress reports on the inclusion program, including challenges, successes, and impact assessments.
• Work closely with other departments, such as mill operations, OCP, R&D, and commercial department, to align efforts and ensure seamless integration of smallholder inclusion into broader sustainability goals and collaborate with local NGOs, government bodies, and industry stakeholders to promote smallholder sustainability and inclusion.
• Ensure proper documentation of all activities related to smallholder inclusion, certification processes, sustainability programs, and manage and upgrade data related to smallholder farms, certification statuses, and compliance metrics.
• Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives aimed at improving smallholder livelihoods and reducing environmental impact.
• Promote sustainable palm oil certification standards and practices across smallholder communities.
• Set up a sustainable advisory arm to offer RSPO certification standards and support and agronomic advice to smallholder/organized private estates in Johor.
